The Love Project
Seeing Barrow through the eyes of women in love - a Heritage project.

Barrovian women aged 30-80yrs joined us in a specially commissioned Red Tent to share their stories of life in Barrow around the age of 15-25yrs. From all of the interviews and discussions we gathered a snapshot of the changes in Barrow for women over a 50 year span (1940’s-1990’s) on the themes of fashion, social life, popular places and pastimes, best things and worst things, education, work, love, marriage etc.  All interviews were recorded on our website available on www.barrowloveproject/womens-stories and were edited into a broadcast for International Women's Day and Valentines's Day.  Heritage and memories were documneted in our book The Love Project and in films by Moonmanmedia and a specially comissioned song written by Anthony Milledge for the Ghyll Singers Choir. Experience and memories were shared across the generations and feature as advice to young women inour published book. All Information remains available on www.barrowloveproject.co.uk until 2018.
